In the spring a visit to the Holland Flower Festival in Zwaagdijk-Oost is definitely worth it.
Enkhuizen is a place for the children where there's an attraction park, fairy tale park and a subtropical swimming paradise.
Also worth a visit, the Zuiderzeemuseum, Medemblik, Hoorn, Edam, Volendam, Marken, Alkmaar.The coastal area of Noord-Holland is very interesting with the towns Bergen aan zee,Groet and Schoorl
On an hour drive from Bovenkarspel you will find the Keukenhof, opened from the end of March until mid May.
