Tourism
In the midst of the 21st century, the land of inspiring figures such as Buddha and Gandhi still maintains their colors and mysticism, motivating trips that go far beyond worldly tourist excursions. But in a bustling and constant mutation, India today also looks to the future, inspiring itself as never before in the image of tycoons such as Lakshimi Mittal and Ratan Tata. Entrepreneurship with spirituality, a very modern combination.
A small sample of this impressive nation of over one billion people, dozens of languages and religions is given in the golden triangle, the route between the capital, New Delhi, the beautiful Agra and Jaipur in the heart of the state of Rajasthan.
In New Delhi there is a meeting marked by a pluricultural, chaotic and vibrant setting, mixing government bureaucrats, hopeful young people and multinational executives. Noisy and with such urban traffic, the city retains monumental spaces such as the Jama Masjid Grand Mosque, the imposing Red Fort and a busy day-to-day life filled with cafes, shops and restaurants in Connaught Place.
The desert Rajasthan has beautiful landscapes and one of the planet's most unique cities in Jaipur, with its pink-walled buildings in the shadow of the splendid Amber Fort.
In Agra, two great architectural gems delight travelers for centuries: the Agra Fort and the beautiful Taj Mahal. The latter in particular is one of those works that any good traveler should place as one of the ten mandatory destinations of a life.
Outside the triangle, discover other destinations such as the hedonistic old Portuguese colony of Goa and the temples of Khajuraho, full of carvings and erotic sculptures. Other prominent centers are metropolis that have recently changed name, such as Kolkata (the former Calcutta), Chennai (Madras) and Mumbai (Bombay).
Lastly, no trip to India is complete without watching the sunrise on the banks of the Ganges River in Varanasi (Benares). India tests all its senses to the maximum, provoking extreme sensations and fascination, passion and distrust. But you will soon realize, no one is indifferent to you.
