The origins of this Church date back to the second half of the thirteenth century.
According to the schemes of the Southern Gothic, the plant is composed of three naves and three covered wooden sections, without transept and head of three chapels with stone vaults. The arches are broken and the capitals present fairly rudimentary diverse foliage.
In the Mother Church of S. Clemente, it is also worth mentioning the nucleus of religious imagery from the 17th and 18th centuries, consisting of two dozen copies, some of which came from the extinct churches of Nª Sª do Carmo and the Convent of Graça de Loulé.
