The Professor Zoroastro Artiaga State Museum is a Brazilian museum located in Goiânia.



With art deco architecture, a style that marked the constructions of its time, the Professor Zoroastro Artiaga State Museum was founded in 1946 with a collection of historical documents, ancient utensils, objects related to the Indians of Central Brazil and artistic pieces.



His name pays tribute to the first director, professor Zoroastro Artiaga, who remained in office until 1957 and, subsequently, from 1964 to 1971, being responsible for characterizing the institution as an eclectic museum.



Operating in its own building, the museum is frequented by a very different audience that includes students, tourists, researchers and the community in general, all in search of specific information on historical and cultural aspects of the State. On the ground floor of the building are the exhibitions; administration, technical reserve, library and folklore are located at the top.



In one of the wings there is a collection of sacred art, popular art and objects related to the history of the Industrial Revolution, entitled "Industrializados". In the other wing there is an exhibition of minerals and rocks characteristic of regions of the State, one of indigenous artifacts, in addition to dioramas, one with birds native to the cerrado, another on mining and a third on ethnology.



The folklore section shows the richness of the culture of the people of Goiás. The presence of material representative of the various regions of the state is registered. The cotton gin, the wheel, the loom bring the visitor back to the old joint efforts of spinners. Clothes and masks recall the traditional cavalcades of Pirenópolis and Santa Cruz de Goiás. The image and sound department, with more than a thousand records at 78 rpm, complete the museum's collection in an important rescue of the history of the people of Goiás.
