Weather
Punta del Este has an Oceanic climate, with wetter winters than summer and relatively cold, and drier summers than winter and warm with mild or warm days and cool nights. The fact that this climate occurs is due to its position in the southernmost tip of continental Uruguay (latitude near 35º South) which facilitates the entry of polar fronts and strong winds blowing into the mainland associated with the known Falklond`s Tory cold current. also as the Falklands current that makes the region colder than it should be at the same altitude.
The best months for the beach in Punta del Este are the summer months, December, January, February and March. For those who do not want to spend leisure time on the beach, the mild oceanic climate is suitable in the other months as well.
